Tender description

The Education Access Team is responsible for ensuring Essex County Council (ECC) meets its statutory duty to provide suitable education for permanently excluded children from the sixth day of exclusion. Exceptionally, the Education Access Team may also support children who require short term interim education whilst longer term placement decisions are being considered. We are seeking an online education supplier to provide an immediate online education provision to: a. pupils in KS1 - KS4 following their permanent exclusion. b. pupils who require short term interim education whilst longer term placement decisions are being considered. The provision will be short-term focussing on English, Maths, and Science. The procurement is designed to ensure that ECC is compliant with its statutory duty to provide education following permanent exclusion and will also support children who require short term interim education whilst longer term placement decisions are being considered. Following permanent exclusion, pupils are either referred to one of our 4 Essex Pupil Referral Units (PRUS), or receive a bespoke education offer through the Essex Individual Packages of Education Support (IPES) framework. However, as neither option can be achieved within the six days, ECC is required to make interim arrangements to meet its statutory duty.
