SOCIAL VALUE CONSULTATION - Processing of co-mingled recyclables

Tender description

Within Erewash’s corporate plan, the following aims are identified: • A welcoming borough, that is clean and safe. • Support our communities. • Planning for the future. • A well run, efficient council. In order to meet these aims and maximise social value, Erewash Borough Council wishes to consider how economic, environmental and social benefits can be integrated throughout the procurement process. The Council will shortly be re-tendering for the provision of processing of co-mingled recyclables collected from the kerbside. The Council will be looking for a suitable Contractor to process, recycle and if necessary, appropriately dispose of non-recyclable or other unacceptable waste materials arising from its collection of co-mingled recycling. Comments and suggestions are welcomed as to how the Council could maximise social value in the specification for delivery of this service. Please note, the Council does not guarantee that all suggestions will be incorporated in the tender specification although consideration will be given.
