Drilling and Blasting Works at Cursiter Quarry

Tender description

This procurement is for Drilling and Blasting of hard rock reserves at the Orkney Islands Council owned quarry at Cursiter Quarry, Grimbister, Firth, Orkney. The works are the drilling and blasting of rock at Cursiter Quarry. Drilling and blasting works shall be carried out in accordance with B25607-2017 Code of practice for the safe use of explosives in the construction industry and Quarry Regulations 1999. Works to be undertaken within the Contract will include; Initial Survey; Record, design, drill, load and fire all to the current explosive regulations; Importing / Setting up and demobilisation of equipment required; Supply and provision of all materials required for the works. The contractor must have sufficient resources to provide services for the blasts of between 15,000 to 40,000 tonnes material approximately 3 times per annum (Frequency subject to size of blasts and client demands).
