Tender description
Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin is seeking expressions of interest from companies interested in tendering for the operation and management of the Portal Cafe via a catering concession. The successful tenderer will be required to operate and manage the Portal cafe on a day-to-day basis and also cater for events and meetings as and when required. The successful tenderer will be remunerated for the delivery of the required services through sales to Portal members, the public and event catering within Portal. In addition, the successful tenderer will be expected to propose a financial contribution, payable to Trinity for the right to exploit the service. The proposed service concession will be for a five (5) year period with the option to extend for a further five (5) year period, i.e. a total of ten (10) years. From its commencement, the service concession will be subject to regular review of performance and the operation of a Service Level Agreement for the ongoing measurement and reporting of performance will apply. It is estimated that the service offering will have a combined total turnover in the region of €750,000 - €1,000,000 per annum. Candidates should note that the economic risk inherent to the delivery of the required services will rest fully with the successful tenderer. As the subject matter of the Contract which ultimately will be awarded comprises a service concession, the award of this Contract falls within the scope of Directive 2014/23/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 February 2014 on the award of concession contracts as transposed into Irish law by the European Union (Award of Concession Contracts) Regulations 2017 S.I. No 203 of 2017. This tender process is being conducted in compliance with this legislation.. .
