NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board (BNSSG ICB) is seeking to engage with potential providers to understand the position of the market for commissioning a Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Pathway for Patients Presenting in General Practice.<br/><br/>BNSSG ICB (“The Commissioner”) is intending to commission a service for the initial assessment of people presenting at their GP practice with a suspected DVT, direct access to an ultrasound scan where indicated and initiation of treatment for those with a positive DVT by clinicians with specialist knowledge for patients registered with a Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire GP practice or classified as a temporary resident.<br/><br/>The service is expected to offer ultrasound and outpatient services at a minimum of 3 locations, using locations which minimise travel times for patients from across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.<br/><br/>In 2022/23, the current BNSSG DVT service received an average of 327 referrals per month, with an average of 70 positive patients continuing on to a 1st outpatient appointment per month. Additional information: The services are healthcare services falling within Schedule 3 to the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 ("the Regulations") which are not subject to the full regime of the Regulations, but are instead governed by the "Light Touch Regime" contained within Chapter 3, Section 7 of the Regulations (Regulations 74 to 77).
