Rotational Rheometer

Tender description

The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) is the UK's National Measurement Institute and is a world-leading centre of excellence in developing and applying the most accurate measurement standards, science, and technology available. NPL requires a rotational rheometer for the characterisation test fluids and melts, used for adhesive, polymer composites, fuels, lubricants, biomedical applications, and other industrial applications such as foods and pharmaceuticals. The rheometer needs to be capable of measuring the viscosity in steady-state flow at temperatures up to 500°C, at angular velocities of up to 300 rad/s and torques up to 200mN.m, in both stress and strain control. In oscillation mode it needs to be capable of yielding the viscoelastic parameters (Note: refer to RFQ document for parameters as the symbols don't copy over) of fluids and melts, over a frequency range of between 1×10-7 and 500 rad/sec and at temperatures up to 500°C.
