Research to improve understanding of structured behavioural interventions for high-risk domestic abuse perpetrators

Avon and Somerset Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) is inviting expressions of interest through a request for information to better understand market capacity and insight for research that improves understanding of the efficacy of structured behavioural interventions for high-harm high-risk domestic abuse perpetrators. We are seeking to build the evidence base on behavioural interventions. To understand whether they are effective in reducing reoffending and preventing (re)victimization and, if they are successful, what it is about them that works. We welcome initial expressions of interest from a range of disciplines as well as from those that are qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods in focus. What is important to us is that you have a strong understanding of the complexities of domestic abuse, the challenges faced, and the sensitivity needed in engaging people with multiple vulnerabilities. We also expect a clear vision for how the research will contribute to an evidence-base that enables decision-making at the commissioning level.
