Essential Maintenance Works at Mechanics Institute, Main St., Wexford

Tender description

The employer, Wexford County Council, requires essential maintenance and structural works to be carried at the Mechanics Institute Building, Main St. Wexford. This building comprises Ground, First and Second Floors, as well as floors between ground and first floor and first and second floor in the Stairs Annex part of the building. The project involves the refurbishment of the upper floor area and roof replacement to the existing listed building. It is proposed to remove the three dormer type windows, strengthen and then replace the entire roof structure. The works also includes the following additional works: 1. Install new second floor over existing second floor 2. Replace all first and second floor windows 3. Install fire escape stairs to the rear to provide access to first and second floor level via new emergency exit doors 4. Replace all gutters and downpipes
