Mobility and Independence Engagement session

Tender description

Westmorland and Furness Council are recommissioning the Mobility and Independence Service for Children and Young People with a Visual impairment under the Children and Families Act 2014 section 19. We are commissioning this service on behalf of the two new local authorities, Cumberland Council and Westmorland and Furness Council. The mobility and independence service will identify children and young people with a visual impairment and support them to learn effective mobility and independence skills at home, in school and in the community. The contract will work with any child or young person, aged 0 -19 years with vision impairment that has been identified by the Council, through the process of an Early Help Assessment (EHA) or an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), as requiring support services. Westmorland and Furness Council are holding a Provider Market Engagement session on Thursday October 12th from 13:30 to 15:00 hours. This will be a virtual event and will be via Microsoft Teams.
