Market Engagement - Specialist Foster Carer Respite Service

Cheshire West and Chester Council is seeking to enhance the offer of the Specialist Foster Carer scheme for children and young people living with Specialist Foster carers. We are working closely with Cheshire West and Chester’s Social Care Fostering team and foster carers to ensure a consistent and equitable offer is available across the borough. The offer will be required to meet the needs of children and young people with complex needs and requirements linked to their lived experiences. Cheshire West and Chester Social Care Fostering Service are currently developing a specialist foster carer provision as a way of supporting children and young people to be stepped down from living in residential care. The provision will support and enable children and young people who have more complex needs to live in a secure specialist foster placement. As part of the wrap around support package for both the children and young people and the specialist foster carers, Cheshire West and Chester Council would like to offer a respite provision which will support the placements and help to reduce placement breakdown whilst continuing to provide the same level of therapeutic care.
