Tender description
The aim of this tender is to procure a Camden Residential Children’s Home. The service will provide 8 beds for children aged between 12 and 17 years old. These children are in the care of Camden, (‘Looked After’) under section 31 or 20 of the Children Act. This is in line with the requirements of the Children Act 1989 and the Children Act 2004. Camden has commissioned its own residential children’s service since 2001. The service is also required to ensure the Council meets its legal and statutory duties which includes the Sufficiency Duty 2010 - The Children Act 1989 (s.22G) that places a requirement on local authorities to take steps to ensure that there is sufficient accommodation in borough to meet the needs of the young people looked after by the Council.
