AHDB are seeking a supplier to recruit English beef and lamb farms to upload their physical and financial data as part of the annual exercise to gather representative physical and financial national datasets for the sector. AHDB are seeking a supplier to recruit English beef and lamb farms to upload their physical and financial data as part of the annual exercise to gather representative physical and financial national datasets for the sector. This work forms part of the Insight and Evidence strand of the Beef & Lamb Sector Plan agreed following the 2022 Shape the Future vote. Critically, assembling a robust and representative national dataset across the main production systems found in England will provide AHDB with insights into the sector’s physical and financial performance which are not available anywhere else. The tool used for this will be AHDB’s Farmbench benchmarking programme. Farmbench is AHDB’s cross sector benchmarking programme, for use by farmers and their advisers. The programme allows users to enter data to calculate total unit costs of production, gross and net margins and physical KPIs to anonymously compare business performance to regional and national datasets. It helps businesses to identify strengths and weaknesses which can be used to draft a plan to improve performance.
