Tender description

The Contract award relates to an extension to services provided as part of the UNDP-supported, GEF-financed Africa Minigrids Program (AMP) aims to support African countries to increase energy access by reducing the cost and increasing commercial viability of low-carbon minigrids. This notes relates to the award of a contract under the negotiated procedure without prior publication under the provisions of the procurement (Scotland) Regulations 4 (b). The Contract is part of the GEF-financed Africa Minigrids Program (AMP), aiming to demonstrate innovative business models that can encourage private sector participation in mini-grid development in the country through piloting Productive Uses of Energy (PUE) on existing minigrids in Malawi. The awarded supplier is named under the funded programme as a primary local implementation partner. In this role, the supplier will oversee the implementation of PUE on the EASE solar mini-grids, specifically facilitating community engagement with partner organisations, procuring and installing productive uses of energy, operation and maintenance, monitoring and evaluation, and contributing to dissemination activities.
