Tender description
NW Low Risk Debris Screen 23-24 Refurbishment & Reconditioning By way of a recent comprehensive review of Environment Agency owned screens across the Country, some 1150 lower risk screens have been identified that might fail to comply with the design guidance that existed at the time of their installation. Across the Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire (GMMC) and Cumbria and Lancashire Authority (CLA) 40 “Priority One” debris screens have been identified as requiring modification, refurbishment or reconstruction in order to support one of four of Defra’s priority outcomes – ‘reduce the likelihood and impact of flooding and coastal erosion on people, businesses, communities and the environment’. Currently, of the 40 sites, 8 sites across GMMC and CLA have been identified for refurbishment within the financial year of 23-24. The initial eight sites are listed below. To meet this priority outcome, the EA are required to use the Collaborative Delivery Framework (CDF) to obtain the services of the main Contractor. To complete the main works, an Early Supplier Engagement (ESE) ECC will be required to act as the enabling works as highlighted in this scope. The main refurbishment works are to be instructed separately under an NEC4 ECC option C.
