Twelve NATO and Partner Nations are collaborating under the NATO ASW Smart Defence Initiative (SDI) to accelerate the exploitation of Maritime Unmanned Systems (MUS) and big data in the Underwater domain through an approx. Euro 1 million industry Challenge. The purpose of this note is to inform Industry of plans for a funded challenge initiative to set the architecture and standards for MUS operations in the UW domain. The initial focus will be on a first iteration of a Reference Architecture and a Reference Environment for a technical demonstrator.
