Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the design and provision of the internal shop fit of the Lake District National Park Authority’s new Visitor Information and Bike Hire Centre in Hawkshead, Ambleside, LA22 0NT

The Lake District National Park Authority (The Authority) was established in 1951, after Government enacted the National Parks and Access to Countryside Act in 1949. The Authority has the full status of a Local Authority. The long-term strategic vision for the Authority is that the National Park will be an inspirational example of sustainable development in action. The Authority covers an area of 229,200 hectares and has a local population of 42,000. But significantly, there are approximately 16 million visitors to the National Park each year. The Authority is seeking to procure the design and fit out of our new Visitor Information and Bike Hire Centre in Hawkshead village. The premises have been operating as a retail unit for many years and has had some structural and cosmetic work completed in the last 12 months. Tenderers must comply with the instructions contained in this document. They are designed to ensure that all tenders are treated fairly and to ensure that all legal requirements are followed, and the Authority’s procurement rules are complied with. All tender documents are to be treated as private and confidential and will remain the property of the Authority and will not be reproduced, other than internally, for the purpose of managing the tender exercise.
