EKFB G2S Cladding and Roofing System For Steel Framed Building

EKFB are seeking to appoint a Subcontractor to undertake Cladding and/or Roofing Systems works for the green tunnel portal buildings as detailed below: EKFB will design and construct two green tunnels, one at Chipping Warden and one at Greatworth. A portal building will be constructed at either end of each tunnel to accommodate the mechanical, electrical, and communication equipment for operation of the tunnel. There will be a total of four portal buildings which are expected to have identical specifications and dimensions. Each building will be 50m length and a 15m width. Cladding System: EKFB are looking for a Subcontractor to be responsible for the fabrication and installation of a weathering steel cladding system and the associated fixings, covering an area of approximately 900m2. The cladding system will be bolted onto a series of steel parallel flange channel posts which will be installed by Others in advance. The installation will include the erection and dismantling of any permanent and temporary works associated with the package of work. Roofing System: EKFB are looking for a Subcontractor to be responsible for the provision and installation of the propriety composite roofing system. The dimensions of the system will be 50m long and 15.5m wide. The roof will be supported on the structural steel rafters which will be installed by others in advance. The roof will be set on a slope with a pitch of 5 degrees with the purlins spanning perpendicular to the slope between the main rafters. The system will include the following items: • Multibeam purlins 235065250 and sleeve S235065C with the associated fixings suitable for all types of roofs, slopes, and electrical lightning protection. • Purlins' tie wires • Tube Struts as per contract drawings • Multicleat MD 235 with the associated fixings. • A propriety guttering system at the low side of the roof to drain rainwater to the building drainage system using downpipes. • 8no. polycarbonate rooflight/Day-Lite compatible with the roofing panel system. • All seals, laps, fillers, flashings and fasteners • Security rating as per contract drawings • U-Value as per contract drawings • Insulation system as per contract drawings • Metsec Fabrication Works are anticipated to commence on site in Q3 2024. Please NOTE THIS EXPRESSION OF INTEREST IS FOR THE EARLY PROCUREMENT OF ONE OF THE PORTAL BUILDING'S ONLY, to enable EKFB to meet programme requirements. It is EKFB's intention to novate this subcontract package to a successful general building contractor who will construct all 4 buildings. A Deed of Novation will be including in our ITT documents.
