Tender description
The Satellite Applications Catapult is seeking to establish a Research and Technology Organisation (RTO) Dynamic Framework (DF) to support the delivery objectives of our Ubiquitous Connectivity (UC) team. The main objective of the UC team is to deliver on collaborative projects in partnership with consortium members for different types of customers ranging from end-users, industry, government/councils, LEPs etc. The framework is need for the following reasons. Firstly, we recognise that there are some areas of expertise which may not exist with the team, therefore this framework will hopefully fill these gaps. Secondly, in periods of peak project load, the framework will allow the offloading of work while the team takes a more supervisory role. Thirdly, it is hoped that the framework will support more efficient processes that will allow access to off-the-shelf as well as cutting edge technologies, solutions and products which will support us not only in the timely delivery through efficient purchases but also be in the forefront of innovation. Lot 2: Core Network Engineering design and implementation of CN solutions for 5G onwards. This may involve the use of third-party software and hardware using opensource through to known vendors solutions. This may involve configuration of specific set of Network Functions (NFs) or the entire NF chain. The lot includes provisioning of off-the-shelf hardware and software in this category. Additional information: Evaluation was based on quality criteria with pricing supplied for information purposes only. All information in the published documentation. Lot 3: Virtualisation Technology Engineering design and deployment of virtualisation solutions adapted to the need for hosting telecoms platform (Core Network, private cloud, edge compute platforms). This may involve deployment on a wide range of hardware platforms ranging from Cisco UCS to Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) servers . The lot includes provisioning of off-the-shelf hardware and software in this category. Additional information: Evaluation was based on quality criteria with pricing supplied for information purposes only. All information in the published documentation. Lot 4: IoT Engineering design, development, and deployment of IoT platform for retrieving, storing and data visualisation. Knowledge on different protocols and topologies used on IoT nodes and their deployment that fit for purpose. The lot includes provisioning of off-the-shelf hardware and software in this category. Additional information: Evaluation was based on quality criteria with pricing supplied for information purposes only. All information in the published documentation. Lot 5: Satcom Terminal Design, implementation, and prototyping of satellite communication terminals. The lot includes provisioning of off-the-shelf hardware and software in this category. Additional information: Evaluation was based on quality criteria with pricing supplied for information purposes only. All information in the published documentation. Lot 6: Systems Engineering Engineering design, implementation, and testing of end-to-end systems at both hardware and middleware level involving sensors, edge platforms, gateways, servers etc. The lot includes provisioning of off-the-shelf hardware and software in this category. Additional information: Evaluation was based on quality criteria with pricing supplied for information purposes only. All information in the published documentation. Lot 7: Embedded Software Development Development of software on constrained platforms. This might involve Real-Time OS (RTOS) and bare metal development. The lot includes provisioning of off-the-shelf hardware and software in this category. Additional information: Evaluation was based on quality criteria with pricing supplied for information purposes only. All information in the published documentation. Lot 8: RF General RF engineering expertise along the RF chain. This may involve work related to 5G TN, 5G Direct NTN, satcom for all bands (including L, S, C, Ka/Ku, D, Q, W). The lot includes provisioning of off-the-shelf hardware and software in this category. Additional information: Evaluation was based on quality criteria with pricing supplied for information purposes only. All information in the published documentation.
