Submarine Dismantling Project - Market Re-Engagement Event

Following the successful Market Engagement Day held on 18 October 2022 to formally engage Industry in regard the UK MOD, Submarine Delivery Agency’s Submarine Dismantling Project, the Submarine Dismantling & Liabilities Team and Defence Equipment Sales Authority are pleased to provide, in collaboration with and on behalf of Rosyth Royal Dockyard Ltd. (Babcock International Group), the following update on the current status of the Submarine Dismantling Project at Rosyth: As previously communicated, UK MOD has formally committed to undertake the dismantling of a Demonstrator Submarine (ex-HMS SWIFTSURE) in Rosyth by 2026. This complex undertaking has a number of constraints (primarily regarding security, radiological clearance and handling of hazardous materiel) with Industry collaboration and innovation being sought to ensure UK MOD and Rosyth Royal Dockyard Ltd. (Babcock International Group) can implement the best possible solution to this requirement. A Market Re-Engagement Event shall therefore be held virtually on Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 27 September 2023, hosted by Rosyth Royal Dockyard Ltd. (Babcock International Group) who are delivering this venture on behalf of UK MOD, to update Industry on this exciting opportunity and inform attendees as to the next steps for this project, which shall include the competitive selection of Industry partner(s) for Rosyth Royal Dockyard Ltd. (Babcock International Group) to deliver the UK MOD requirements. The presentations provided during this Market Re-Engagement Event shall detail the process by which interested parties who wish to be considered for this competitive exercise and receive Rosyth Royal Dockyard Ltd. (Babcock International Group)’s Pre-Qualification Questionnaire can identify themselves.
