Parks & Grounds Maintenance Contract

Tender description

The London Borough of Sutton are seeking to procure a Parks and Grounds Maintenance contractor to provide Grounds maintenance in parks, an integrated cemetery service, Verges maintenance and Management of allotments and sports bookings. We are in discussion with the London Borough of Merton and this may be a joint procurement between both the London Borough of Sutton and the London Borough of Merton. If this is the case the estimated value would be £6,500,000 rather than £3,000,000. Lot 1: The London Borough of Sutton are seeking to procure a Parks and Grounds Maintenance contractor to provide: 1) Grounds maintenance in parks including mowing, hedge trimming, shrub, herbaceous and rose bed maintenance, path sweeping, litter picking & bin emptying, furniture cleaning and maintenance, graffiti removal, playground checks, playground and park repairs, weed control and legionella water checks. 2) An integrated cemetery service including cemetery grounds maintenance, grave digging, family liaison and bookings for burials and to act as cemetery superintendents, upkeep of grave and burial registers, headstone topple-testing and record keeping. 3) Verges maintenance. Grass mowing by providing 8 cuts to most verges except rough cut areas, banks and biodiversity areas which require 3 cuts. Maintenance of shrub beds (weeding, pruning and mulching) and hedges (trimming to maintain sight-lines and at least annually). 4) Management of allotments and sports bookings and collection of all fees and charges. 5) Explore possible income generation opportunities at the borough's parks. As noted above, we are in discussion with the London Borough of Merton. This may result in a joint procurement between both the London Borough of Sutton and the London Borough of Merton. If this is the case, this may be for part or all of the provision outlined above, and as such the estimated value could be between £3,000,000 and £6,500,000.’
