Urban Design Strategy for the Wexford Town Local Area Plan 2024-2030 to include an Urban Design Framework Plan and Town Centre First Strategy

To prepare an Urban Design Strategy for Wexford Town to include: • An overall Urban Design Framework for the plan area. • Individual Neighbourhood Framework Plans for the various sub areas which make up the plan area. • Detailed master plans for a number of strategic sites which will be subject to significant development. • A Town Centre First Strategy for the town centre to include the Quays. The strategy’s purpose is to deliver, by design, planning and intervention, a high-quality environment with a strong local identity and sense of place. It will build on the inherent attractions of the town, and will ensure the conservation of the townscape, riverscape and architectural heritage and the promotion of high standards of architectural design for new development. It will also focus on significant regenerative interventions. It will also deliver a defined and coherent urban structure for new areas of the town.
