Engineering Consultancy service for District Centre Enhancement Programme (Rosemount, Bawnogue and Dodsboro)

Tender description

The brief for this scheme is to design an environment that will promote and sustain a rich and vibrant district centre where local residents can access easily via walking, cycling or using public transport. The public realm should be of a high standard, promote connectivity and feel safe and pleasant. In developing options for these schemes, the following objectives should be used to guide the planning and design work: • Re-assignment of road space for cycle/pedestrian facilities, • Enhancement/enlargement of public realm • Additional pedestrian and cyclist connections • Ensure consistency of infrastructure • Efficient car park layouts that maximise functionality (caters for deliveries) • Reductions in corner radii in line with DMURS • Create an entry detail on approaches to the centre • Sustainable communities for all ages • Disability Support • Removal of street clutter and minimisation of signage • Landscape design that will increase trees, planting, SUDs • EV Charging options • Provision of public lighting • Implementation and integration of SUDS as per SDCC guidance document • Active Play & teen space with the focus on natural measures • Street Art • The long term maintenance of proposals will need to be carefully considered with the Council Lot 267129: Title of Tender: Engineering Consultancy service for District Centre Enhancement Programme (Rosemount, Bawnogue and Dodsboro) Submissions must be submitted online via the electronic postbox on www.etenders.gov.ie before 4pm on 23rd March 2023.
