Pre-market engagement Not applicable. Work done so far There is significant work that has been done across our directorates and product centres. Some projects will be building on a discovery or alpha phase. Further, most projects will be able to access related research and design carried out in related or dependent products and services that comprise part of the overall end-to-end service being developed. Which phase the project is in Not started Existing team Depending on the project, they may be working alongside a multi-disciplinary team, e.g. consisting of business analyst, solutions architect, user researcher, developers, product and/or delivery managers. They will also work with subject matter experts and stakeholders. They may work with blended teams, including permanent NHSBT staff and team members from other suppliers. Address where the work will be done Individuals will be able to work remotely within the UK, but must be available to travel to NHSBT locations or other meeting locations as needed (with prior notice) Working arrangements The individuals will work common team hours in order to maximise knowledge transfer and integrate with team development processes. These tend to be Monday to Friday starting work by 9.00am, 7.5 hours per day + lunch time, but should be confirmed with the specific project team. The supplier would need to comply with NHSBT expenses policy for any necessary travel and all travel and subsistence will require prior approval. Latest start date 2023-11-01 Enter the expected contract length: 2 years Extension period: 1 year Special terms and conditions Subject to any changes in policy, the individuals will provide their own laptops and mobile phones for use on NHSBT premises. NHSBT provides secure access to its network as required. Suppliers must be able to provide relevant resourcing for each SOW within 10 working days of request, and will need to address poor delivery or performance issues within a maximum of 5 working days. Suppliers must align with IR35 requirements for public sector in running managed business design services if their service includes associate/contract resources. Work will be called-off via approved outcome based SOWs. Please note, NHSBT are not committing to a minimum spend figure. Confirm if you require a contracted out service or supply of resource Contracted out service: the off-payroll rules do not apply Summary of work NHSBT require a strategic partner to support our delivery of design outcomes ; supporting our ongoing work to embed user-centred approaches to product and service development and delivery. Where the supplied staff will work No specific location (for example they can work remotely) Who the organisation using the products or services is NHS Blood and Transplant Why the work is being done NHSBT has an ambitious programme of change; with the focus on design from the outset, NHSBT aims to deliver significant value for the organisation and its customers. We are looking for a strategic partner to support our delivery of design outcomes, from a range of expertise, including: - User Research - Business Analysis - Service Design - Interaction Design - Content Design. Depending on the outcome to be delivered, a given project may require different combinations of these skills, as well as representing a range of SFIA levels of delivery. The partner will provide outcomes supporting our ongoing work to embed human-centred approaches in product and service development and delivery, using design processes aligning to NHSBT and GDS/NHSX principles; enabling us to deliver multiple strategic and tactical initiatives. The business problem you need to solve NHSBT's strategic business objectives rely on the successful of development of digital services and end-to-end user journeys that support our strategic ambition: to save and improve even more lives, building a world where every patient receives the donation they need. In order to do this, we need to deliver inclusive, usable and accessible services in these areas: - User-centred donor experiences, including web, app and on-session experiences, that build commitment and deliver a sustainable donor base - Internal- and partner-facing clinical and manufacturing tools and services that meet our organisational needs to modernise our operations and support innovation, including modernisation of our organ donation clinical tools and blood supply management services - Colleague-facing tools and services that support our continuing development of a high-performing, inclusive organisation, including HR services and tools First user type: This work will result in the design of digital services and products for both internal and external users, including: -Donors and potential donors -Families of donors -NHSBT staff providing frontline services to donors and families -Clinical and laboratory teams -Blood and plasma product management Enter more details about this user type: Specific users for a given product or service will be identified the relevant Statements of Work. The outcomes will also need to meet the aims of internal stakeholders including: -Business and Service Owners who need to understand how the service will meet their service users’ needs and deliver their business requirements. -Heads of Product Centres, Programme and Project Managers who require fast turnaround, projects delivered to time, cost and quality to be used by downstream programme and project resources -Head of Design and Lead BA and Design colleagues who require a reliable, responsive, value add service from experienced and highly capable UCD professionals.
