Tender description

The Environmental Protection Agency, request the supply of an Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS) for the routine analysis of trace and major elements in a variety of natural waters and effluents. Approximately 5000 samples are analysed annually for approximately 27 distinct analytes ranging from beryllium to uranium and separately for mercury using INAB ISO-17025 accredited methods. Methods are accredited to mg/l range for major cations and to ranges of 0.02-100 ug/l for trace metals determined in a single analysis. Instrument performance is checked and calibrated daily. The Equipment MUST fit within the existing laboratory space, utilities and usage patterns as there is limited scope for reconfiguration of laboratory space or services.
