RES/OP - Transport of Deceased on Behalf of HM Senior Coroner for Avon

HM Senior Coroner for Avon is an independent judicial officer, whose costs are met by the local authorities within the coroner area. As is the case with many coroner areas, work to support the coroner is split between the police service, which employs and manages the Coroner's Officers, and the local authority, which employs and manages the administration team and Court Ushers. All deceased within Avon requiring a coroner's autopsy need to be transported from either the hospital or community setting in which they died to the public and forensic mortuary at Flax Bourton. The contract will be for 3 years with the possibility of extension of further 2 years subject to Council's agreement.
