PS2562C RFT for the provision of an upskilling programme in Irish for post-primary teachers.

Tender description

The Department of Education wishes to procure the services for the provision of a Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) (or the equivalent EEA accreditation) accredited Higher Education Institute to design, develop and deliver an upskilling programme of study in the post-primary curricular subject of Irish. The development of upskilling programmes supports the commitment of the Department to providing opportunities for teacher professional learning across the continuum of teacher education, particularly in the context of the Teaching Council’s work with Cosán, the national framework for teachers’ learning. Building on the success of the current upskilling programmes in mathematics, Spanish and physics, proposals are now invited for the provision of a flexible upskilling programme in Irish. The upskilling programme must enable teachers to meet the Curricular Subject Requirements of the Teaching Council to register to teach Irish at the highest level.
