MCC - Achill Sound Village Greenway: Chainage 50m to 480m

Mayo County Council intends to carry out works funded by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), along a 410m stretch of the existing main street in Achill Sound to construct a Greenway and Ancillary Infrastructure through the Village. The scheme forms part of the larger Achill Sound to Bunacurry Greenway Project. The proposed works are to be carried out in the Townland of Sraheens, Achill Sound, Co Mayo. The works will include the following: • Construction of 430m of 3m wide Greenway in accordance with TII standards. • Minor realignment of existing main street as shown on drawings. • Standardized road widths, parking arrangements, build out kerbed areas etc. • Construction of Gabion retaining walls at four locations. • Introduction of 4m wide toucan crossing to the main street.
