All Wales Ophthalmology Consumables Framework Agreement

NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership – Procurement Services (NWSSP-ProcS), hosted by Velindre NHS Trust, are inviting tenders on behalf of the NHS bodies in Wales for the All Wales Ophthalmology Consumables Framework Agreement. This procurement will involve an establishment of a multi-supplier framework agreement. NHS bodies will have the option to award direct call off contracts or run mini-competitions under this framework. Bidders may submit offers for 1 or all lots. Please refer to the ITT for further information. Lot 2: Reusable Ophthalmic Instruments This Lot covers Reusable Ophthalmic Instruments including but not limited to forceps, scissors. Lot 1: Disposable Ophthalmic Instruments This lot covers Disposable Ophthalmic Instruments including but not limited to forceps, scissors. Lot 3: Ophthalmic Machine and Device Specific Consumables This lot covers consumables linked to specific Ophthalmic Machines and Devices. Lot 4: Ophthalmic Kits This lot covers Ophthalmic Machine and Procedural Kits, including but not limited to PHACO, Cataract, Chalazion, Vitrectomy Lot 5: Ophthalmic Rings This lot covers Ophthalmic Rings including but not limited Symblepharon, Malyugin, Capsular Tension, Flieringa. Lot 6: Glaucoma Implants and Consumables This lot covers Glaucoma Implants and Consumables including but not limited Valves, Implants, Stents Lot 7: Vision Testing and Correction Consumables This lot covers Vision Testing and Correction Consumables including but not limited Stereo Test, Acuity Test, Pen Torch, Trial Frame, Phano Glasses. Lot 8: Eye Stains, Gases, Oils and Visco This lot covers Eye Stains, Gases, Oils and Visco. Lot 9: Ophthalmic Consumables This lot covers Ophthalmic Consumables including but not limited Iris Hooks, Eye Spears, Plugs, Eyelid Implants. Lot 10: Ophthalmic Cannulas and Needles This lot covers Ophthalmic Cannulas and Needles including but not limited Lacrimal, Anterior Chamber, Irrigating, Sub Tenon, Intravitreal. Lot 11: IOLs and Associated Consumables This lot covers IOLs and associated Consumables. Lot 12: Bandage Contact Lens This lot covers Bandage Contact Lens. Lot 13: Value Based / Innovation Offers Value Based Procurement (VBP) is founded in the principles within Value Based and Prudent Healthcare. The concept of systematically capturing and measuring both clinical and patient outcomes are firmly embedded within the strategic plans of all organisations and through the recommendations outlined at a National level i.e., Planned Care Board, coupled with the work in place to capture cost in a range of areas using the technology i.e., TDABC Time Driven Activity Based Costing and PLICs Patient Level Costing. Triangulating Value Based Procurement with these approaches will only add to the delivery of a Value Based healthcare system for NHS Wales.
