Tender description

West Northamptonshire Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Contractor to transport, sort and process approximately 20,000 tonnes of Dry Mixed Recycling (DMR) annually from the Daventry and South areas of West Northants. After June 2028, the Council may look to include a further 20,000 tonnes of DMR tonnage from our Northampton area. The requirement of this tender covers the areas of Daventry and South Northamptonshire only until the end of May 2028, after which we may look to include the tonnage from the Northampton area. The Contract will start on 1 November 2023 for the Daventry area tonnage. The tonnage for the South Northamptonshire area will phase into the contract on 27 February 2024. The tonnage for the Northampton area may be added in from 1 June 2028, but this is yet to be decided. Consideration as to whether to include the DMR tonnage from the Northampton area from June 2028 will take place in late 2027. Factors influencing this decision will include the outcome of West Northamptonshire's Resources and Waste Strategy (due to report in the autumn of 2023) and the outcome of the national resources and waste strategy any service specific requirements detailed in it.
