Tender description

The purpose of this Prior Information Notice (PIN) by Salford Priors Parish Council is to initiate a market engagement exercise for the procurement of a delivery partner to progress Civil Engineering Works including the clearance of undergrowth and the construction and provision of a mixed use greenway route for pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists utilising a former railway line between Salford Priors which currently is in the ownership of a private landowner. The Parish Council needs to assess the interest and capability of the market to provide and deliver the requirements envisaged and what its views are on how an opportunity of this kind might be packaged and delivered. Project Description Salford Priors Parish Council ("SPPC") are looking to appoint a civil engineering contractor to provide and undertake the works as a principal contractor to plan, manage and coordinate the delivery of this project to commence Winter 2024 / Spring 2024 To take into account of the health and safety risks to everyone affected by the work (including members of the public), in planning and managing the measures needed to control them. To liaise with the landowner on the construction phases of the scheme and to prevent any interference with the neighbouring agricultural land. The works will involve: i) the clearance of undergrowth and its disposal through a licensed facility in accordance with Environmental Regulations. ii) the supply and installation of hardcore, stone, fencing materials. iii) the licensed removal and disposal of any spoil. A minimum level of specification will be identified in a Descriptive Document but is currently outlined below: a) Project Management as Principal Contractor b) Groundworks c) Removal of vegetation d) Trimming of trees & hedges e) Removal of Topsoil f) Laying & compaction of aggregate (Base Stone) g) Laying & compaction of Top base stone h) Removal of any excess materials & spoils from site Approximate value of works £200,000 to £250,000.
