Replacement of Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) at Inverness Airport

HIAL's airports are operated in accordance with the regulatory standards of statutory bodies including the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Department for Transport (DfT), European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA). Inverness airport is planning to replace the majority of its AGL system as it is approaching the end of its operational lifespan; the 05 approach lighting at Inverness has been replaced recently and is not within scope. The replacement AGL shall be high efficiency to support HIAL's sustainability objectives and reduce their overall energy consumption. HIAL will be seeking to tender for a main contractor for the works. The project at Inverness Airport is for supply, installation and commissioning of the following: 1. New High Intensity Runway Edge, Threshold and End lighting for Runway 05/23. 2. New High Intensity Approach lighting and associated poles for the 23 approach only, following the same profile as the existing 23 Approach System. 3. New primary cable and connections to the new runway 05/23 threshold, edge, and end AGL plus the new 23 Approach AGL system. 4. Replacement of Secondary cabling for Runway Edge, Threshold and End lighting for Runway 05/23 & 23 approach lighting. 5. Recalibration of existing CCRs with load of new LED fittings. Replacement of CCRs depending on age of CCRs serving the services within this scope. 6. Replacement primary cabling for all AGL (excluding 05 approach). All primary cabling to be installed in-situ for the entire airfield but left with plenty of slack at the ends. New cables to be coiled, bagged and taped for future connection (when their corresponding transformer, secondary and light fittings are replaced in future). 7. Integrating the above replaced AGL areas into the existing AGL control System. See attached PIN Document for more information on the scope, constraints, programme and estimated contract value.
