Forensic Medical Examiner & SARC Services

Tender description

The States of Guernsey, through the Committee for Home Affairs (Law Enforcement) are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from potential suppliers with specialist knowledge and experience in delivering FME & SARC services, both operationally and/or as trainers of these service. The operational requirements for these services are still being investigated and reviewed. The current service is provided by a doctor lead service; however, we are actively investigating alternative model proposals. The procurement options for these services are as follow. • The provision of a doctor only FME healthcare provision, i.e., replicate the current model • The provision of healthcare via a mixed model of Nurse/Paramedic led service, supported by doctors working an on-call system • Staff to provide the two options as above are locally recruited & trained and employed either via a local entity or by a UK business operating in Guernsey • Staff to provide the two options as above are from the UK and trained and supplied by a UK business • Staff can be working only in custody health care, or initially jointly across both Custody and the SARC • We are looking for training options for both Custody/Forensic health and SARC most likely on island rather than sending staff to the UK • We seek a business partner to help provide initial resilience in service provision and training both in Custody/FME and SARC while on-island capability is built up.
