Trafford is looking to commission a targeted family support service which will form part of Trafford’s Family Help approach alongside other commissioned services and the internal offer, delivered by the council. The Family Help approach aims to make sure that services to support children, young people and families are there when they need then. Family Help is for the whole family; children, young people and adults. To achieve this, Trafford Council and partners are committed to providing the right help, by the right professional at the right time. Data collected from a recent refresh of our Trafford Early Help Needs Assessment, which includes data sourced from Trafford Team Together, Early Help Panels and Trafford’s Early Help Module, VCFSE sector and parent / carers, shows the following needs were identified in relation to children and young people and their families: • Mental health difficulties (both CYP and parent / carers) • Domestic Abuse • Poor school attendance • Disruptive / challenging behaviour (CYP) • Emotional regulation (CYP) • SEND • Relationship issues (all family) It is anticipated that the Family Support service will support families in all of the above areas, and others as identified on a case-by-case basis.
