Supply of 2 No. 7.5t Hotboxes to Carmarthenshire County Council

AWARD NOTICE. Carmarthenshire County Council are looking to purchase 2 7.5tonne chassis with Hotbox (7.5 Tonnes G.V.W). The vehicles will be used for the carriage of goods and people. The vehicles must be suitable for hard use commensurate with highways pothole maintenance and construction work over a typical working life of at least four years covering approx.. 15,000 miles per annum. The build and construction must be entirely suitable for this purpose over a minimum life expectancy for six years. An 18 tonne vehicle was trialled but was found to be too big for many rural roads and had a capacity which was significantly larger than required. The 7.5tonne vehicle provides manoeuvrability and sufficient payload capacity for pot-hole repairs undertaken by a 2 operative team. 2 hotboxes are required.
