Provision of Training Ammunition to the Metropolitan Police Service

The MPS are looking to set up a framework, to be established nationally, for training ammunition. The ammunition to be selected, is to compliment the Operational ammunition, namely 9mm Lugar 147 gr Gold dot, 5.56mm Tactical Bonded 62gr and Hornady 7.62 x 35mm 111gr as well as Blanks, Marker and Pyrotechnics. Lot 1: 5.56mm Training ammunition Lot 1 - 0.223" / 5.56mm training 55 or 62gr. This is the training equivalent and should compliment the new Ops ammo (5.56mm Tactical Bonded 62gr) Estimated MPS Volumes - 500K - 750K per annum, Lot 2: 7.62mm Training Ammunition Lot 2 is to compliment Ops round - Hornady 7.62mm X 35mm (.300 BLK) 111gr MFX TAP Barium. Estimated MPS Volumes - 180K - 200K per annum. Lot 3: Lot 3 - 9mm Training Ammo Lot 3 is to compliment Ops round 9mm Luger 147gr Gold Dot G2. Estimated MPS Volumes - 1.7m - 2m per annum.
