NatureScot is seeking a suitably experienced consultant to work with North Ayrshire Council to develop a ‘Deer Management Statement’, which will be a precursor for developing their policy and effective and environmentally responsible management plans. NatureScot are seeking a suitably experienced consultant to create a ‘Deer Management Statement’ via gathering the information required to address the first element listed below in Section 3.6 of the SoR(Context for deer management planning). This will result in existing information and data being collated and presented in a single report as described below. This is to include a clear identification of the public interests associated with deer in the North Ayrshire Council area and any information/data gaps that require to be filled to inform the management planning process. The report needs to reflect the range of existing ownerships and land management challenges and future land use change through planned development and to take account of the council’s responsibilities under the Deer Code when carrying their functions. It is anticipated the final report will help to identify options and recommendations for developing policy.
