The service provided by consultants will involve peer reviewing (evaluation and quality assurance) com The aim of this procurement exercise is to issue a tender for the offer of an EA contract. This tender will be invited to Mapping & Modelling suppliers. The service provided by consultants will involve peer reviewing (evaluation and quality assurance) complex / high risk hydraulic and hydrological modelling submitted to the Environment Agency to support the Environment Agency’s statutory role in commenting on Land Use Planning requests. The overall requirement of a model peer review is to determine whether the model is fit for purpose for its intended use. Evidence and Risk has in-house expertise to undertake model peer reviews however, consultancy support is required to supplement in-house teams and are used to provide this service where there is insufficient capacity in the in-house teams to deliver within statutory response timescales, for example during peaks in workload or when in-house teams are supporting flood incidents and where the in-house teams do not have the software or expertise to review a particular model. Evidence and Risk have had similar contracts set up previously under the WEM and more recently the NGSA framework since 2015.
