2023 PIN Sensory Impairment Services Aberdeenshire

Tender description

Aberdeenshire Council has a requirement for the provision of accessible services for individuals who have a range of issues relating to sensory impairment. The Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership have a future service requirement for a locally based service to provide support to people with sensory impairments. This is not a call for competition. As part of market testing activity the Council is seeking to engage with providers with experience of developing and delivering similar services for whom this would be an opportunity of interest in the event of sourcing strategy being approved that supports an open tender through PCS-T. The service will include information and advice, activity to promote social inclusion, group support and partnership working. In addition, the requirement is for support to access and use equipment, to live as independently as possible and to assist in rehabilitation, as well as short term emotional and practical support. The services will be for people who are newly diagnosed, newly certified or registered as sight impaired. Services will also be required for people with hearing impairments.
