Tender description
Trafford Council are looking to recommission their Sleep Clinic Service. Currently the offer is open to Trafford families with children aged 2 – 18y (or up to 25y for those young people with additional needs). Over the past 2 years, Trafford`s Sleep Clinic has seen a significant increase in demand for sleep support and advice. The Sleep Clinic averaged 106 new referrals across Term 1 and Term 2 of this year (22/23), a 67% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. In addition to increasing referrals, the sleep clinic has seen an influx of complex cases over the last 12 – 18 months. Trafford`s Sleep Clinic recorded a significant rise in complex cases presenting to the clinic over the last few years. From September 2022 – April 2023, 21% of referrals were considered to be of significant complexity. A number of these referrals presented with one or more of the following: • EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance) • Rarely leaves the bedroom/house • SEMH (Social, emotional, and mental health needs) In addition to this, over the last year the Sleep Clinic have also seen high referrals for children with • ASD • ADHD • ASD/ADHD Pathway • Behaviour disorder Trafford`s Early Help Commissioning Team are looking to commission a service that can support a varying level of need from providers who are able to develop a tiered system to support families across Trafford at all levels of need. Within the offer we would like to see: • Universal support through online resources, tools and tips and parent workshops • Training for professionals to allow them to support families directly to try and prevent referrals into clinic where appropriate. • Focused support through 1 to 1 clinics operating on a tiered system to provide appropriate support for cases of varying complexities Promotion at the universal level and training for professionals is key to the service delivery to help manage demand and waiting times for the one to one clinics. The value of this contract is £100,000 per year over a term of 3 + 2 years (1st September 2023 – 31st August 2028). The Early Help Commissioning team would like to know if providers are interested in this opportunity, detailing briefly what their offer would be including details of method of support i.e. virtual, face to face or a hybrid model, target numbers per year at each level etc. We are currently finalising tendering documents for this opportunity.
