A creative lighting solution for the Sheppard Street underpass in Swindon's Railway Village

Swindon Borough Council is tendering for the design and installation of a creative lighting solution in the Sheppard Street underpass in Swindon town centre. This is one element of a wider refresh of the underpass which is itself one part of a wider scheme to improve the pedestrian route from the Station into Swindon's historic Railway Village and the Bristol Street and Sheppard Street tunnels. The lighting solution will need to comply with The British Lighting Standards BS5489 1 2020 for a public highway within an enclosed subway whilst also responding to the historic surroundings and providing some interpretation and visual impact to make this underused route more appealing to our residents. The estimated contract spend is between 100000 to 150000 and to comply with grant funding requirements the design and installation of this project must be completed by 31st March 2023 The local community and other stakeholders will need to be involved in the design process. Full details relating to the Goods Services Works are provided in the tender documents. To participate, Suppliers will need to Register as a Supplier with then Register an Interest before obtaining access to the tender documents. Tender clarifications to be submitted in writing via Messaging in ProContract tender portal by 13th June. The Council's responses to these clarification questions will be issued periodically on the ProContract tender portal Tender Responses are required to be submitted no later than 3oth June 2023 1200 hrs UK Local time via ProContract tender portal. No Tender submissions will be considered without completing the tender documents in full including attachments and returning them in alignment with the instructions within the tender documents.
