Tender description
The Museum of London is looking to procure a Showcase Contractor to build and install a number of showcases as part of its "Past Time" Gallery at its new site at West Smithfield. The works will require working with a Principal Contractor in the relevant gallery space, working in and amongst a complex building environment with multiple other contractors on-site. Further detail on the works required is described later. Lot 1: This procurement exercise for the role of Showcase Contractor for the Museum of London. The "Past Time" Showcase Contractor will be required to manufacture and install a large number of showcases as part of the New Museum's "Past Time" Exhibition Fit-Out. The successful candidate will be responsible for works as summarised below:•Input to the make-up, structure, glass size, mullion size, facility chamber / tray location / size / access, door access requirements, and ongoing maintenance access, for the showcases •Compliance with teh MoL's showcase specification •Full co-ordination with the the Past Time Exhibition Principal / Main Works Contractor re. drawings and information exchange •Contractor design of the showcases •Obtaining design team and client comments and approvals for the contractor drawings •Samples for Oddy testing, aesthetics and manufacture •Manufacture of the showcases in accordance with the approved drawings and specification •Obtaining off-site manufacture design team and client comments and approvals •Delivery and installation on-site in accordance with the programme •Testing & Commissioning of the showcases •Handover to the client, including O&M, and any training requirements.
