Cemetery and Cremation Management and Administration System - Pre Market Engagement Liverpool City Council are considering procuring a software solution to help manage the day-to-day working of the service and improve community access to cemetery and crematoria services. Liverpool has one of the largest and busiest local authority bereavement services in the country, delivering cremation, burial and mortuary services for the bereaved in the city. Liverpool also carries a high percentage of burials and cremations when compared to all other national Merseyside Authorities. The service is responsible for the operation and management of two crematoria, six cemeteries, seven closed church yards and the City Mortuary. Annually we deliver over 6,000 funerals, 700 post mortems and handle over 6,000 enquiries. The total area of cemetery land equates to approximately 430 acres, with some of Liverpool's cemeteries being amongst the largest in the country, the management of the infrastructure includes, approximately 24 miles of roads and pathways, approximately 250,000 headstones and a number of listed buildings and landscapes. The City Mortuary post-mortems are carried out on behalf of HM Coroner for Liverpool. All post-mortems where a death has occurred within the community are carried out at the City Mortuary. In addition, all post-mortems relating to deaths that have occurred as a result of a road traffic or railway fatality are also carried out at this site. Keywords: cemetery, crematoria, software
