Ballyroan Community Development Plan

Tender description

Ballyroan Community Development Association is seeking expressions of interest from a suitably qualified, urban design led, team to prepare a Community Development Plan for Ballyroan Village, up to 2033. The Plan will have a strong focus on the public realm and will address with equal importance the Social, Economic, Cultural, physical, and Environmental opportunities and challenges within Ballyroan and its wider hinterland and incorporate them into a comprehensive Plan. The Plan will provide a detailed design and costings for the recently acquired ‘Playground Site’, incorporating plans already prepared for a playground and MUGA space. It will assess in detail opportunities for the site, including hard and soft landscaping, the removal or re-use of the ‘Old School Building’ and costs and funding streams for any proposals on the site. The Community Plan shall also provide a vision for the development of the whole Village, building buy-in from property and landowners and the local community. It shall provide a detailed background study of the area, including a collaborative Village health check and shall identify key projects and actions to further the development of the Village. It is envisaged that the Community Plan will provide a basis for community groups to seek funding from multiple streams and will offer opportunity for the delivery of a coordinated programme of investment for the area.
