Tender description

The contract is for the provision of a new purpose built PassivHaus certified Gatelodge Project and associated site works, as part of the wider Acorn Farm Development within St Columb’s Park. The Contract Period is 9 months and the completion of the project will tie into an overall plan for the wider St Columb’s Park. The Gatelodge Project is part of a wider Acorn Farm development. The Gatelodge development is an entirely separate site that immediately abuts the main Acorn Farm development site and will provide a principle pedestrian point of entry to the wider Acorn Farm development from St Columb’s Park. Both projects have a shared boundary compromising of a historic stone wall which will need to be altered to provide new pedestrian access points between both elements of the project. Both developments are to be delivered concurrently under separate building contracts and the successful delivery of both contracts will require high levels of coordination and cooperation between the Integrated Project Teams for both element of the project, particularly along the stone wall interface. The Gatelodge site will need to be accessed via the main pedestrian and vehicular entrance from St Columb’s Road to the wider St Columb’s Park. This entrance is also the main pedestrian thoroughfare from the Peace Bridge to the Park via Ebrington and is heavily used. The park is to remain ‘live’ and open to the general public throughout the lifetime of both projects. The ambition for the Gatelodge project is to develop the design to achieve a “Certified” PassivHaus Accreditation. Please refer to the CfT documents for further details.
