An analysis of existing air quality monitoring stations in the ambient air quality monitoring network, compiling of metadata and production of a report on each station.

Tender description

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an analysis of the 73 stations (Tier 1=37 & Tier 2=36) in the National network. The analysis will take place over two phases, with regard to the provision of metadata associated with each station and the production of a detailed report on each station. These sites are aligned with zones as set out by the EU Implementing Provisions on Reporting (IPR) requirements (A, B, C, D) with the most recently available Central Statistics Office (CSO) Irish population figures. This support is sought over a six-month time period starting in Q3 2023 and completed by Q1 2024. 1. Phase 1 should be completed within months 1-3 2. Phase 2 should be completed within months 4-6 3. Delivery of a final assessment report by the end of the six month period. Deliverables: • Production of a report which will include detailed analysis of the current national ambient air quality monitoring network (each site), with respect to provision of metadata for IPR data submission. • Provision of a completed Metadata file of all sites, fully aligned to IPR requirements. • The report shall outline, where relevant, the recommendations w.r.t. compliance with EU directives and overall, non-legislative, general recommendations, where applicable. • Updated site classification documentation for each station. • Details on all required metadata for each station as outlined in the IPR guidance documents. • Analysis and recommendation of the physical status of each station as outlined above.
