Boston Manor House & Hogarth’s House– Historic Houses

London Borough of Hounslow’s Historic Houses Team are looking for an exciting and ambitious design practice to design their shop and introduce a new approach to retail at Boston Manor House. Central to this project is a more holistic approach to the visitor experience, in which hospitality operations are fully integrated with an exploration of Boston Manor House’s historic rooms and stories. The House has never had a dedicated retail space so we are looking for a practice which will make the best use of limited space and provides stock suggestions in tune with and inspired by rooms, exhibitions and events surrounding it. The shop space will be situated in the entranceway to the House, providing access to and from almost every room of the House. It will be traversed by almost every visitor. It is fundamental that the shop is of a quality to match the surrounding historic rooms and is at the forefront of current retail operations and design.
