Request for Information - Stray Dog Kennel Provider

Stockton on Tees Borough Council’s Animal Welfare Service provide an in-house stray dog service under the Environmental Protection Act 1990. They have a duty to seize and detain stray dogs found in the borough for a period of up to 7 days (and longer) unless they are claimed by their owner within this time. In order to facilitate this service, the Council holds a contract with a boarding kennel to provide suitable kennelling facilities. As the current contract is soon to reach the end of its term the Council is seeking expressions of interest from boarding kennels who may wish to provide this service and provide any market insight / intelligence to assist the Council in finalising the Specification. Any potential providers site where kennels are located must be located within a 25 mile radius of Stockton on Tees Borough Councils Municipal Buildings, Church Road, TS18 1TW. This is due to the amount of travel required by Council Officers to meet the needs of the service in transporting animals and to reduce both time and environmental impact of fulfilling the requirements. The Council would like interested kennel providers to complete the RFI Questionnaire and submit this via the ProcContract portal by no later than 12:00 Noon 16th May 2023.
