Local Area Energy Plan (LAEP) for Lancaster City Council

Tender description

The City Council has secured external funding to deliver a Local Area Energy Plan (LAEP) to provide a whole energy system approach for the district. The council recognises that coordination is required across many factors and between many stakeholders, to achieve net-zero cost effectively and to ensure it facilitates a just transition, is locally led and creates local opportunities. The council requires a LAEP that sets out the activities needed to decarbonise the district and takes into account the council’s key objective to be net carbon zero by 2030, across the whole district. Consideration is needed to determine what can be achieved, by when and will specify the increase in capacity, types of upgrades and costs (including to whom) to make the needed electrical grid infrastructure upgrades. This includes the requirement of a detailed outline of investments, projects, and actions to support delivery. Keywords: LAEP
