This project involves the complete removal of the existing lift and installation of a new lift at Cuthbertson Building, Glasgow Royal Infirmary This project involves the complete removal of the existing lift and installation of a new lift. The existing lift machinery space is to be re-used in the installation of the new machinery. Machine Room Less (MRL) lifts are not deemed suitable for this project. To facilitate the removal and installation works it will be necessary to use the machinery spaces hatch and lifting beam that will need to be checked, tested and certified by the Vertical Transportation Contractor.This Specification not only defines a set of design requirements but also emphasises certain aspects of performance that are appropriate for these types of installation. These performance parameters include criteria for ride quality, quality of service and reliability to be met by the new equipment. The objective of this specification is to define the Vertical Transportation equipment required to provide adequate vertical circulation for passengers and goods within the building(s) as defined in the Scope.
