#31983 - Southern Security Assurance Testing

Tender description

Network Rail Southern Region have a requirement to engage an external security testing company to enter an initial 5-year framework contract to deliver covert tests across several Network Rail Managed Stations, retail units and high security locations within the Southern Region. The contract will deliver tests at Southern Managed Stations, along with retail units based within those stations. Tests will also be required at a number of high security operational locations and the contract may also incorporate St Pancras Station at a later stage and may also be extended to retail units and platforms at the listed locations. This program is designed to test the quality of security at Network Rail managed stations, retail units and high security locations, and provide assurance that our locations are following procedures correctly in compliance with the National Railways Security Programme (NRSP). It will also highlight any potential weaknesses or trends that we can address proactively to better enhance our levels of security. Network Rail requires a competent contractor to conduct a variety of security assurance tests. The tests will be conducted on an independent and covert basis. The Supplier will comply with the BTP covert testing protocol and have consulted with the DfT covert testing team where appropriate. Why we are doing this: The testing will offer an impartial assurance assessment of security compliance within our locations, providing detailed feedback on any non-compliances and any new areas of vulnerability to enable Network Rail to continually improve security across the network. In-house testing complements the formal compliance inspection regime undertaken by the Department for Transport (DfT) of all our security locations.
